Better than expected after reading reviews. A quick stop over. They have a shuttle that goes at certain times although we needed a taxi way earlier they helped set it up. The front desk was very kind. Nice lobby. Good car parking security. Rooms are clean. Beds comfy. Shower and bath run down not hottest water. Pools they have a few but looked under maintenance. Cold, dirty, like they haven't been used in years. For a quick family airport stopover it is fine. We traveled with 3 little girls. You can walk to the mall for food. TV has kids Spanish cartoons.

Comfortable beds. Good location near airport and car rental. And wonderful restaurant, Shrimpshack, is nearby. Would be much nicer if the pool and hot tubs were heated. Also, breakfast is $15/person, about double other places in Costa Rica.

Went to check in and overheard some disgruntled guests saying that there was no water in any of their rooms. When we asked about this with the front desk person, they assured us that the water was on in our building...guess what?! No water and no ETA on fixing it. Also room exterior door doesn't securely lock. Doesn't look the cleanest but decent for a quick night sleep.

Please be very aware. This hotel is not a resort! The photos online of this hotel are not even remotely close to the actual hotel. The hotel is very run down. You can tell the owner has not put any money towards the upkeep! The pool mini bar was closed and the pool was dirty. The jacuzzi was lukewarm and the entire pool deck needed to be retiled. There was little to no water pressure in the room and the “garden view” was non existent. The toilet didn’t flush properly and the water in the sink was hand automated (VERY ANNOYING) and was extremely cold!! There were only about 5 channels on TV and the remote control did not work properly. The items in the gift shop were quadruple times the cost and the food in the hotel lounge was disgusting. The only good thing I can honestly think of was the gym and the staff who were friendly and very helpful. Don’t waste your money staying here.

People need to raise their standards if they think this place is anywhere near 5/5 stars and it’s absolutely not a 5* hotel. Let me start by saying the staff are great. This review is not in any way a reflection on them. The lobby is probably the best bit about the place. It’s relatively well kept. That’s where it ends. Lower your expectations, if you have any. The rest of the place is falling apart. It needs a complete renovation and it clearly hasn’t had any real maintenance done for years. Covid has just made it worse. Paint is peeling off of every surface, there’s a huge hole in the ground near one of the swimming pools which is only cordoned off by some red tape and there are weeds growing everywhere they shouldn’t be. Everything is also dated, which isn’t a problem, but it doesn’t help the feel of the place. We’ve stayed in a couple of Wyndham hotels this year and the theme is obvious. There is no investment in the buildings whatsoever. They are either struggling financially or just happy to take people’s money without reinvesting it. Yes, the place is cheap, but that’s no excuse for letting it fall apart. I really don’t recommend staying here. The spa is closed (not mentioned upon booking), all 3 pools have seen better days (the swim up bar is also closed) and the place is generally empty. Breakfast is ok and there’s a reasonable variety. The staff at breakfast are attentive. Honestly, if you’re happy to stay one night then good for you. It’s close to the airport. That’s one of the very few things going for it.

My room was very nice except the AC was weak. Honestly I'm not convinced it worked at all. Everything else was fine though. Showers were hot. Toilet flushed. Beds were a little lumpy, but still comfortable. They have a few nice pools scattered around. The breakfast buffet was decent, not great. Hotel staff were courteous and helpful when needed. It's about 10 minutes from the airport, but it didn't look like there was much nearby worth walking to.

This place is completely run down and dirty. They put me in a room where the bathtub hadn’t been cleaned & then I found an empty mcdonalds container behind the night stand (as I was looking for a plug). It was so disgusting they volunteered to let me switch rooms (read: not an upgrade). The new room had 1 lizard and 2 slugs inside. The bathroom was cleaner but still gross enough I did not take a shower while staying here. The rooms are incredibly noisy and I was kept up & woken up multiple times up to 2am by the person in the room next to me. From 06:30 on, you get woken up by people talking and walking in the hallway. Of the three/four advertised restaurants, only two are open. One has a one sided menu with hamburgers and chicken fingers and the other is a casino restaurant. Take your pick. The mattresses are awful, with noisy springs. Breakfast was a letdown with only plantains, moro, scrambled eggs (hotel style), fruit and toast. Everything was mediocre. There is construction going on in the hotel (unadvertised) which means it’s super loud from early in the morning. The ceiling is leaking in many parts of the hotel, meaning there are puddles in the hallway carpets. The pool is also rundown, with the tiles being disgusting and broken. Nowhere near as nice or as big as the pictures. So far the only redeeming quality has been the staff. DON’T STAY HERE!!! TRUST ME.

At around 1130pm on the 28th someone tried to gain access to our room using the connecting rooms door and the front door. Good thing we travel with security devices to block and lock doors. We were in bed starting to fall a sleep. We heard that someone pushed on the connecting door. We got up and questioned it. No one replied. As I checked the front door they forced the connecting door over 4 more times with a stronger method. Unsuccessful, we began to call the front desk and no reply. After a few more attempts to open our doors. We proceeded to call the police (911) in Costa Rica. While I was on the phone with the police two more attempts were done. Meanwhile my wife had made contact with the hotel security. Come to find out the room was not occupied. We requested a new room closer to front desk. We were Moved. The next morning I made the front desk aware. They were not informed from night crew. Was this internal???? The front desk said that that room was occupied by a single male. They sent security to ask. He said that he thought that was a wardrobe. . That is BULL. I was looking forward to meet him!!! The police never arrived. We paid for the Honeymoon suit and slept in a small room. Hotel offered a discount that we have not received $35??? Really… our safety is worth $35. I recommend you purchase safety services and alarms to be used while traveling. That saved our lives. Always ready!

This hotel is definitely very dated and is not five stars as they advertise. However, it was fine for one night and close to the airport. The front desk helped us arrange a very late night transfer to the airport which was nice. Pretty clean but very old. The small casino and few restaurants were convenient but the amenities and food were mediocre at best.

I loved it here! I especially love the ladies at the cafe downstairs. The coffee is delicious! They also have a variety of cakes, but I tried to stay away from the sugar. There is a restaurant and bar and a casino. They also have a little gift shop in the lobby and I fell in love with the handmade jewelry they have there.
