Amazing resort! We got an complimentary upgrade to a villa which was fantastic. Very private with own pool, outside area, tv room, walk in closet etc. Food is fantastic and had crayfish and prawns on buffet often. Be prepared to walk as the resort is big. Staff is very friendly and humble. Will definitely visit this resort in the future with friends as the entertainment is great if you want to party!

Super beach and accommodations. Great place to pamper your sweetheart for Valentines. The only thing that need to improve is the food quality. Service and support team are exceptional nice and very obliging.

Heaven on the earth!! One of the best beaches we have been to. Swimming pools are excellent except the one at Steak House( the edges of the pool are very sharp hence not kids friendly) All inclusive was satisfactory!! Huge variety in all meals. Hotel is very much kids friendly. Room and wait staff service was disappointing. Overall weHighly recommend the hotel for family and non-motor water sports are free with experienced staff and great quality equipments.

Riu Palace made my honeymoon truly unforgettable. Apart from us knowing we were already going to be based in a fabulous hotel with great food and thrilling activities, we were in store for so much more!We were upgraded to the private pool villas and, boy oh boy, it was such a blessing. Goshi's (if I can remember his name correctly) ensured that we also get a dinner on the beach with his compliments. The staff in general are friendly and work so hard to make your stay magical.The only thing I'd say lacks is the efficiency of the shuttle service. For a hotel that large, they need more shuttles! Also, the food at buffet restaurant is around a 7/10 but at beefsteak house I'd give it a 9/10.

Excelente praia

Mi pareja y yo estuvimos allí nueve días en diciembre. Estuvimos muy bien, pero a la hora de las comidas, si no dabas propina, tenías que ir detrás de los camareros para que te sirvieran la bebida. La habitación muy grande y limpia, el complejo muy bien cuidado, lo único que le haría falta una limpieza de cara es la piscina central, está un poco sucia y le faltan muchos azulejos. Desde nuestra experiencia, lo peor del viaje es que cada vez que ibas a la playa, se amontonaban los vendedores ambulantes y al final se hacía un poco pesado, nosotros dejamos de ir a la playa solo por eso. El último día el chofer que debía veniros a buscar no vino, y las chicas de recepción llamaron a un taxi y en 3 minutos nos pasaron a buscar. En general, un viaje maravilloso y volveríamos sin pensarlo.

Overall, our experience was great. The staff were friendly and genuinely attentive to our needs. The food in the main dining area was consistently tasty, varied and plentiful. The grounds were impeccable. Housingkeeping did an excellent job in keeping our room clean and tidy. Staff payed special attention to guests' birthdays, including mine. I was surprised to have champagne delivered to the room daily and the staff sang Happy Birthday to me in the main dining area.There are some opportunities for improvement at this resort. 1) Consider increasing clubcar availability, for guests, particularly after meals. 2) Consider adding more lights on the grounds for nighttime passage. 3) Consider adding small sitting areas along some of the walkways, as the resort grounds are large.

An amazing hotel with high standards that are actually met as advertised. The staff is great, taking care of everything. The food is one of the best we had in Zanzibar. Everything was perfect. Oh and its location is perfect, with an amazing pool that overlooks the ocean, just wow!

Loved this hotel. We booked this for after we finished touring all over Kenya and Tanzania and it was such a relaxing experience. The room was absolutely incredible. Hot water all the time was much appreciated, cute birds all over the property, I even saw a bush baby at night on a tree near our room!The food buffet was out of this world. I mean they had everything you could ever want. For every meal!The pools were beautiful, but we really enjoyed going early to the beach everyday and grabbing two chairs and an umbrella! You could also go stand up paddle boarding out there, which was super fun.If you’re into diving there’s a shop there as well offering daily tours.Just can’t say enough good things about this place. I’d always heard of Riu because we have friends that go stay at the resorts owned by Riu in Mexico and so I had heard wonderful things, but wow! Very amazed at our stay there.I will add to keep in mind that the hotel is doing a massive expansion next door. Our room was right beside it, but seeing as how we weren’t in our room during the day it really didn’t bother us that much. I would definitely stay here again!

Las habitaciones tenían hormigas y la mosquitera tenía varios huecos por lo que no cumplía su propósito. Fuera de la habitación la organización del hotel fue un poco caótica ya que nos ofrecieron multitud de servicios que cuando fuimos a hacer uso de ellos no estaban disponibles (o eso nos dijeron) La animación, piscinas y playa eran alucinantes y muy bien cuidadas.

Nos encantó este hotel, estuvimos all included despues del safari y la experiencia fue increíble, la atención de todo el personal en cada área del hotel, la deliciosa y variada comida del buffet, los demás restaurantes un poco más íntimos a los que debes reservar con anticipación, la conexión con el precioso mar turquesa, pudimos hacer además Padel surf y kayak, bailar y pasarla muy bien. Muy recomendado.

Bonitas habitaciones, instalaciones, ubicación y servicio. En especial un trabajador que se llama Cosmas. Se echa de menos mas animación. La playa es espectacular pero no privada. Llena de vendedores que molestan para dar un paseo.

La estancia en general ha sido estupenda, la comida esta rica, es variada, la habitación es cómoda y amplia y tiene de todo. Las instalaciones comunes estan en muy buen estado y limpias. Si que es cierto que tuvimos un problema con la reserva de los restaurantes alternativos al bufet principal. Aparte de que tienes que hacerlo con 3-4 dias vista porque no hay hueco, tuvimos un problema en la reserva de uno de los restaurantes. Para reservar llamamos a recepción e hicimos reserva para dos de ellos. En el segundo, a pesar de la confirmación de la recepción, llegamos al restaurante y no estaba nuestra reserva apuntada. Por lo que nos quedamos sin probarlo. Suerte que estaba el bufet principal abierto, pero me parece que este tipo de fallos en un hotel de esta categoría no deberían de ocurrir.

Elegimos este hotel para nuestra luna de miel y es una vergüenzadespués de lo que hemos pagado.Tenemos la pulsera de todo incluido y para los restaurantes temáticos hay que reservar. Hay lista de espera de una semana para cenar. Es vergonzoso. También hay lista de espera de 4 días para hacer buceo.Pagas un dineral por unos servicios que luego no te ofrecen y no te dan solución.Además tuvimos problemas también con la habitación ya que tuvimos que pagar un suplemento por una habitación que ya teníamos contratada…En fin un desastre, nada recomendable.También quiero decir que los empleados deberían tener alguna sesión formativa de cómo tratar al cliente ya que van a su bola, interrumpenen el cuarto sin motivo etc

A really nice hotel with great staff who are as attentive as anywhere I have been. The all inclusive option was great too, we thought we would try other restaurant’s in the area but we didn’t. Water sports were included also, oh and great cocktails. Thanks for a great time.

I would like to give Riu Palace in Zanzibar 5 stars but there was a management problem during our stay that I can not over see. When you book a all inclusive resort with 3 specialty restaurants the last thing you want to here when you check in is that the 3 of them will be close during your entire stay, forcing you to eat 3 meals a day from the same buffet during your entire stay. This is unacceptable. For the rest the hotel y wonderful, the facilities are amazing, the landscaping is our of this world. The employees were absolutely gorgeous, all of them, they made our stay very very pleasant and they made everything there could to make our stay unforgettable. The room was very nice and clean.

O hotel é maravilhoso! A cozinha do hotel é excelente (o proprietário do hotel é italiano, um dos chefs é indiano.) A massa é preparada melhor do que na própria Itália, arroz e frutos do mar para 5+ - você pode comer a mente! Todos os dias programas diferentes. A equipe é muito simpática, todos os pedidos são cumpridos. A praia é linda. Eu definitivamente recomendo!

The hotel is nice, the food is fine, location is good, the pools are nice, and you have beach access. The workers are very friendly and warming but are completely under trained. If you are booking a 5 star hotel you want really good service, however service is quite poor here, this is no fault of the workers, as they are really nice but more the hotel for providing extremely poor training. I would rate this hotel more along the lines of 3 star rather than 5 star. Checkout was a complete disaster, it was like a zoo, no order or control what so ever. I felt so bad for the two guys left at reception trying to handle 50 people at once. There was no manager to be seen or anyone in the front lobby to assist. The poor guys were running around looking for help but none to be found. Overall the holiday was fine and Zanzibar is beautiful. Would I book Riu Palace again, probably not, especially for the money they charge compared to the service they provide.

The rooms and grounds are beautiful and clean! Amazing beach! The food was really good and there were plenty of vegetarian options. The service was disappointing - very, very slow and the cocktails were horrible. Overall a good stay but wouldn’t go back.

One of the best resorts in zanzibar. Huge facilities with access to the beach. Hotel has all inclusive package which includes alcoholic drinks as well. Wonderful hospitality and great food available in zanzibar. Resort staff are very friendly and helpful.

Great place and good ambience. Been allocated a room where the bathroom water was continuously overflowing from the drainage outlet and was taling shower in a pool of filthy water. Spoke with them twice but no solution was proposed.

Boa tarde, a viagem foi de 14.04 a 25.04, parecia o período das chuvas, mas o tempo estava lindo, não tinha mosquitos, não vimos nenhum, quanto a pegar este hotel em particular, não vimos ouriços ou, levaram chinelos para o banho mesmo assim foram ressegurados.O hotel é excelente serviço de alimentação maravilhoso, o pessoal não pede gorjeta, limpam os quartos perfeitamente decoram com flores, não roubam, está tudo bem ... o o mar é magnífico maravilhoso As excursões são caras, então se quisermos uma excursão levamos $ 1200 para dois, são apenas excursões, $ 22 pagam uma taxa para o hotel, $ 50 de visto ... não há nada de especial para comprar O hotel corresponde a 5 * a minha estadia foi um sucesso, voltarei, então apenas a este Hotel. Hotel muito bom e linda praia! A comida é excelente e variada. Pessoal muito educado e simpático. Sobre ouriços: ouriços realmente são. Cuidado com a água. Use tênis ou só pise na areia limpa quando a água estiver limpa. Geralmente é muito transparente! Mas, quando está nublado, não arrisque, você pode pisar nas algas, e aí os ouriços se escondem ... Sobre ocupação de espreguiçadeiras com toalhas: não seja como um "cachorro na manjedoura"! Existem lugares suficientes para todos. Temos uma família de três pessoas, com bastante calma sempre encontramos um lugar à beira da piscina. Na praia é fácil, peça ao staff para trazer espreguiçadeira e guarda-chuva ... Sobre o check in e check out: trouxeram-nos antes das 16:00. Deixamos nossas malas na recepção, demos uma volta, comemos e nos registramos. Saímos depois das 11:00. Eles pagaram $ 10 por pessoa / hora menos o desconto. Ficamos no quarto até a nossa partida. Relaxe neste hotel, você não se arrependerá!

Maureen and Musa best waiters ever, every staff member from gardener, security, cleaner, chef etc. Really friendly and happy. Manager inspects entire property and restaurants morning, noon and night. A estadia no Riu Zanzibar foi óptima, é um hotel bastante calmo (para maiores de 18), bem localizado, com uma praia fantástica e vigiada dia e noite (embora os locais sejam pessoas bastante tranquilas). O serviço é assegurado por uma equipa de pessoas incrivelmente simpáticas e que fazem tudo pelo nosso bem-estar. Voltaremos, obrigada por tudo! :)

Localização privilegiada na ilha de Zanzibar para repousar e tomar banhos na praia privativa, com uma equipa simpática e cheia de boa vontade e disponibilidade. Alimentação muito boa e diversificada. Para casais sem filhos como nós este é o local ideal para férias, pois não são permitidos bébés nem crianças.

Escribimos esta reseña desde la suite por que después de tres días aquí podemos dar una opinión correcta. El hotel es una maravilla, cuenta con numerosos servicios para hacer de tu estancia una experiencia inolvidable. Lo mejor de tod ha sido el trato, amable, servicial y sobre todo divertido. Es un hotel tranquilo pero si quieres algo más de fiesta no tienes más que decírselo al personal, porponer un ejemplo, hoy han organizado una pool party y nos han dejado poner nuestra música y ha sido muy divertido. Sivos decidís por este hotel preguntad por nitin, Jeremiah, Kelvin, James o loyce, se encargarán de que lo paséis de 10. Y si coincidís con un animador que se llama Jhon lo vais pasar genial. Resumiendo, nuestra experiencia ha sido fantástica, nada negativo que decir, un hotel de 5 estrellas de verdad.

Llegué a este hotel con las expectativas muy altas, y en fin... me marcho con la sensación de que me han engañado. A cualquier cosa le llaman 5 estrellas lujo, porque el Riu Palace Zanzíbar no tiene esta categoría ni de lejos. Lo único que tiene de 5 estrellas son las habitaciones, que son espectaculares y están decoradas con muy buen gusto, y por supuesto los precios, tanto el de la estancia como el de todos los servicios que ofrece (lavado de una camiseta, 5 dólares, por ejemplo). La comida es bastante mediocre, con apenas variación en el buffet de las cenas y, en cualquier caso, muy lejos de la supuesta categoría del hotel en cuanto a estándares de calidad. El desayuno es muy normalito, con repostería regular tirando a mala, y los dos restaurantes que existen en el resort, aunque ofrecen comida de bastante calidad, tienen un sistema de reservas pésimo con el que siempre hay overbooking. En cualquier caso, lo más decepcionante del hotel es lo tremendamente incómodo y tedioso que resulta todo, absolutamente todo. La mayoría de las habitaciones, o al menos las que no suponen un riñón y parte del otro, están en la parte de arriba del recinto, próximas a la recepción. Esto se traduce en una caminata de unos 10 minutos para poder ir a desayunar, a la playa o a la piscina. Y si se te olvida algo en la habitación o tienes que ir al baño, el camino de regreso es cuesta arriba. Y es una cuesta bastante empinada, doy fe de ello. Los horarios también son malos, increíblemente malos. No es posible desayunar antes de las 7 y media, lo cual complica la salida para las excursiones, y la comida es hasta las 3 de la tarde, lo cual complica lo de poder comer algo al regresar de las excursiones. Entre medias del desayuno, la comida o la cena, no hay posibilidad de comer nada que no sean unos cacahuetes o snacks. Además, no hay ningún servicio de bebidas en la playa, directamente no existe, y el bar más cercano cierra a las 6 de la tarde. La enorme decepción que supone el Riu Palace Zanzíbar aumenta sobre todo si te paras a pensar en la relación calidad precio, porque los servicios que ofrece son inferiores a cualquier resort del Caribe, por poner un ejemplo, pero a precio de oro, o incluso de diamante. Es un claro ejemplo de que no es lujo todo lo que reluce. Lo único verdaderamente admirable de este hotel es algo que es común a todo Zanzíbar y a toda Tanzania: todas y cada una de las personas que trabajan en él. Por lo demás es decepcionante, muy decepcionante.

El sitio es espectacular y el servicio es inmejorable, además de estar ubicado en la mejor zona costera de Zanzíbar con diferencia. Habitaciones confortables y con estilo, servicio al detalle y comida muy variada y de calidad. Por poner algo mejorable sería los espectáculos y actividades del hotel, pero por lo demás, perfecto. Merece la pena la estancia alli.

Un lugar de excepción en Zanzíbar. Tiene una de las mejores playas de la isla, arena blanca en marea baja y alta, apenas vendedores ambulantes, no hacen falta escarpines y mucho espacio para pasear. El hotel es extraordinario y se está ampliando, trato muy amable de todo el personal y muy serviciales. Un acierto ir a este hotel, por la situación (mejores playas de la isla) como por la comodidad del complejo, las habitaciones y variedad de la comida.

Próxima apertura de una renovación el 3 de noviembre, hotel con una ubicación extraordinaria en cuanto a playas se refiere, un paraíso en toda regla, vistas impresionantes al mar, habitaciones amplias y renovadas, muchos jardines para disfrutar de la naturaleza, 4 piscinas, próximo a bares restaurantes y pub nocturnos, no le doy las cinco 🌟 por que esta en pendiente y hay que subir y bajar bastante para desplazarse por el hotel.

Hotel recently smartly charged their name, I guess trying to avoid bad reviews posted in the past. Stayed for 10 days, it’s overpriced property w poor service, food is reused several days in a buffet in different dishes, staff refuses to serve proper mineral water even so part if the package, ants in the rooms, no proper sanitation. Water is salty in the shower. Not worth the money charged.

Now re branded. But the most incredible resort I have been to to date. Roads are shocking but that's not the resort fault. GO.

Most unbeleivable resort. Staff are so friendly and always willing to help. Love the vast amount of activities the resort offers as well as entertainment. I could Deffinately come back here every year for a holiday.

Ahora es Riu Palace Zanzíbar

Espectacular!!! Sin ninguna duda volvaría a Hideaway of Nungwi si vuelvo a Zanzíbar!! Calidad precio inmejorable. Entorno paradisíaco, con acceso directo a la playa. Dispone de una gran piscina con servicio de bar casi todo el dia. Asimismo, hay el restaurante principal (donde se desayuna y come a diario) tipo buffet libre, pero con gran variedad. Por las noches puedes también reservar en dos restaurantes (carnívornous y japonés). Una noche a la semana toca cena de "gala", al aire libre y con espectaculos. Maravilloso. Fui después de 15 días de safari y si hubiera podido, habría alargado la estancia. Por último, destacar la amabilidad de todo el servicio del hotel. Tanto en la zona de playa y piscina como en los restaurantes, realmente un buen servicio.

Una experiencia inolvidable. Si bien es cierto que haciendo una crítica constructiva, la comida podría ser mejor. Deduzco que ahora que la regenta una empresa española le darán poco a poco mayor calidad al servicio.

Acabo de llegar de unas vacaciones en Hideaway of Nungwi y realmente es muy difícil describirlo, hay que vivirlo. Las instalaciones impresionantes, todo cuidadisimo, la limpieza inmejorable, la playa, las puestas de sol y sobre todo el equipo humano, solamente tienen un objetivo :que estés feliz mientras estés ahí y ya lo creo que lo consiguen, con una dirección pendiente de todo a pie de calle y con una mujer excepcional Eva para ayudarte en todo momento y con una sonrisa que cautiva. Gracias a todos por tanto como nos habéis dado.

Its a beautiful place tu stayed, amazing view from balcony of room of villa. Food is very delicious, loto of evening activities, clean swimming pool. I just dont like the crabs in the sea.

All the staff is very friendly and helpful and made the stay very enjoyable. The rooms are clean. The spa facilities has a good feeling and the staff there are well trained and very accommodating. Food at the hotel is of good quality and I feel that there is something for everyone. Really enjoyable staying here.

Amazing place let down by regulations and management of the hotel. I do not know if this is due to the changeover from Hideaway to Riu but the small thing matters to a customer. The staff at this hotel who do the hard work absolutely amazing and always do their best, it is a shame about how it is run. We arrived as a honeymoon couple and they had no idea of this (which may not have been their fault) but when this was finally acknowledged with some Brut and flowers on the bed, it felt like it was a one off. When checking out you can only have drinks at the pool bar until midday even though we arrived late in the evening. This is the first time we have experienced this, from a hotel and an absolute shame and is a great way to leave a dampener on an otherwise positive image of the hotel. I am not one to complain and rarely do unless I feel it is necessary, but I feel let down on what could be an amazing hotel and a once in a lifetime honeymoon. Staff around the hotel... you really make it what it is and that is top service with many smiles and jokes

Beautiful place. Great food. Lovely staff.Love the location as it is set above the beach.Very responsive staff - even came to fix my air conditioner at 4am when it broke.

A class resort. The service is amazing, they real cater for your every need. The rooms are big and clean and most of them have great ocean views ( make sure) you book a room with a view. The staff are amazing , a second after you sit they are there to take your order. The property is on a cliff looking down on the ocean . You climb down to reach the beach, saying that they have a "beach like " section on the property itself with the sand and all. The food is good and there is a wide variety. I was on an "all inclusive" plan so most of the drinks and food at the bar were free for us to order. There is no problem bringing children to the resort, there is a small "kindergarten" section with games and activities for the small ones. No special activity for teens, but much for them to do via water-sport activities. I recommend using the o primes water-sport company. The have reasonable prices and everything is close to you. We went scuba diving and the gear and instructors were a class. Overall a great experience

Atención personalizada de principio a fin.Te recogen en el aeropuerto de forma individualizada, el check in es personalizado, con explicaciones en inglés muy despacio para poder entender todo. Te llevan a la habitación con un coche de golf... y llegas a esa habitación grande y con unas vistas al mar tan impresionantes que te quedas sin habla. Terraza, aire acondicionado, ventilador, baño grandísimo y con todos los amenites.Camareros, jardineros, bailarines, personas de la zona de la playa... todos a tu servicio, amables, cariñosos, sonrientes, dispuestos... absolutamente maravilloso.Las mejores puestas de sol de la isla. La mejor playa.No hay nada de lo que quejarse. Tres días de auténtico relax y felicidad.Gracias por hacer el final de mis vacaciones tan maravilloso.Volveré y lo recomiendo encarecidamente.

Superb place really good atmosphere and food. They mostly don't give you room before check in time so if you reach before 14:00 hours you can complete registration formalities and start enjoying the amenities. The beach is very clean and nice.

A very cool 5 starts hotel, located in a beautiful place near a white beach and a beautifum sea, the staff is very good and kind, i the eating room, there is a very big buffet, all the food is very tasty. The rooms are big and comfortable, the beds are very big, and the bathrooms are very clean and beautiful. In all the rooms there is a mini bar full of drinks and beer, and all that is free ( at least for the blue bracelet). This hotel is great and worth the money.

Honeymoon spent here was out of this world. The staff were polite and helpful, really couldn't do enough for us both. Location and views were breath taking. The island has more history than you would imagine. Fully endorsed from the wife and myself. Saving for our return
