- Visit the Castillo San Felipe del Morro and Castillo San Cristóbal. These are two historic forts that are part of the San Juan National Historic Site. They were built by the Spanish to protect the city from attacks by sea and land. You can tour the forts and see the walls, cannons, dungeons, and garitas (sentry boxes) that reflect the colonial era. You can also enjoy the views of the ocean and the city from the forts.
- Explore the Old San Juan. This is the oldest part of the city and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It has many colorful buildings, cobblestone streets, and monuments that date back to the 16th and 17th centuries.
